Four journalists from The Fourth Estate have picked up various awards at the 28th awards ceremony of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
Associate Editor of The Fourth Estate, Seth J. Bokpe, was adjudged the best reporter on Democracy and Good Governance. The award was for his series on the failure of 294 political appointees of the Akufo-Addo administration to declare their assets as required by law and how they only rushed to comply after their names had been published by The Fourth Estate.

This is the third consecutive time Mr. Bokpe has picked up the GJA award for the best reporter in Democracy and Good Governance.

Evans Aziamor-Mensah and Adwoa Adobea-Owusu jointly picked up the award for best report in Education for their story on fraud in the computerised school placement system.

The investigative piece revealed that the GNAT Hall in Accra had been turned into a market where placements into top senior high schools could be bought like commodities. They also reported that top officials linked to the placement system executed their trade through a network of
intermediaries, mostly security guards and cleaners at the GNAT Hall. The story sparked conversations on the need for reform in the school placement system.
