Withdraw officers implicated in the fake COVID-19 tests at Jubilee house Clinic – Office of the president tells MOH

The Office of the President has asked the Ministry of Health to withdraw officers implicated in The Fourth Estate investigations into the issuance of fake COVID-19 test certificates at the Jubilee House Clinic, located at the office of the president.

The directive from the presidency follows preliminary investigations conducted by the presidency into The Fourth Estate investigations titled “Fraud at COVID-19 labs: Frontiers, Jubilee House Clinic Involved”.

In the investigative piece released on December 9, 2021, a staff of the Jubilee House Clinic was caught on tape demanding ₵500 from the undercover agent after which he issued a negative COVID-19 certificate to the undercover agent without testing.

Also implicated in the exposé was a staff of Frontiers Healthcare Services, who demanded GH₵900 each from two undercover agents and issued two negative COVID-19 certificates to them.

The management of Frontiers Healthcare Services, in a meeting with The Fourth Estate, had denied any involvement of its staff in the issuance of negative COVID-19 test certificates. The company, however, did not comment when the documentary was published with evidence that implicated their staff.

Sources within the company have told The Fourth Estate that Frontiers dismissed the said employee after the publication.

Following the report, the Office of the President ordered the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) to investigate the matter.

On March 4, 2022, The Fourth Estate wrote to the Office of the President for an update on the NIB investigation.

The Chief Director of the Office of the President, H. M. Wood, replied the letter, saying the presidency had since not received the report on the outcome of the investigations by the NIB.

“However, without prejudice to the outcome of the investigations, this office has requested the Ministry of Health to withdraw from the Jubilee House Medical Centre, the officers implicated by our preliminary investigations,” the letter said.

The Office of the President has, however, assured The Fourth Estate of its commitment to get to the bottom of the matter.
