No trace of World Bank-funded boreholes in three Yendi communities
Ten communities in Yendi in the Northern Region were selected in 2022 to receive mechanised boreholes under a World Bank-funded project.Project records indicate that boreholes were drilled in all ten communities. But an investigation by The Fourth Estate found no evidence of the facilities in three of them, although official documents list the work as completed.William Jalulah and Joojo Cobbinah, who travelled to Yendi to investigate, report that without access to the promised boreholes, residents have little choice but to draw water from a dam also used by cattle and other animals.
